Vice President of Product Operations

Employment Type: Direct Hire
Location: Aurora, CO (Onsite, then Hybrid)
Compensation Range: $135,000 to $175,000 annually

Role Overview

This role is responsible for owning the strategy, performance, and evolution of all internal systems that power the end to end mortgage loan lifecycle. The Vice President of Product Operations will lead how technology, data, and automation are leveraged across processing, underwriting, closing, servicing, and compliance.

This is a highly influential role at the intersection of mortgage operations, product strategy, and technology. Success requires deep hands on mortgage operations knowledge paired with the ability to modernize systems, eliminate manual work, and scale operations without linear headcount growth.

What You Will Own

  • Product strategy and execution for operational platforms supporting the full loan lifecycle
  • Ownership of Loan Origination Systems including modernization, configuration, integration, and optimization
  • Automation initiatives that measurably reduce cycle times, manual effort, and operational friction
  • Data, analytics, and reporting used by executive leadership to run the business
  • Cross functional alignment between Operations, Compliance, Finance, and Technology

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the product vision and roadmap for all internal operational systems
  • Own and evolve the Loan Origination System to support operational efficiency, compliance, and scale
  • Lead LOS modernization and integration initiatives with clear business outcomes
  • Partner closely with Operations leaders to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies across processing, underwriting, closing, and servicing
  • Drive automation initiatives that increase throughput and reduce dependency on manual processes
  • Establish clear operational KPIs including cycle time, productivity, quality, and compliance
  • Build dashboards and reporting frameworks that translate operational performance into actionable data
  • Use data to prioritize initiatives, influence executive decisions, and measure success
  • Ensure systems and workflows adapt to changing regulatory requirements without sacrificing speed
  • Lead and develop a high performing team of Directors and Product Owners
  • Act as an executive level partner who can balance growth, risk, and operational discipline

Required Experience and Background

  • 12+ years of experience in mortgage operations, product, or operations focused technology roles
  • 5+ years in senior leadership roles with ownership over complex operational platforms
  • Deep mortgage domain expertise across loan processing, underwriting, closing, servicing, and compliance touchpoints
  • Proven ownership of Loan Origination Systems including modernization, reconfiguration, or large scale optimization
  • Demonstrated success driving automation and efficiency at scale in a regulated environment
  • Strong analytical capability with hands on experience defining KPIs and building operational dashboards
  • Ability to translate operational realities into data driven narratives that resonate with executive stakeholders
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to lead cross functional change
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience required
